Our exciting future

We are delighted to announce that after funding a management buyout of Cambridge Maintenance Services Ltd, investment company Rockpool has now funded the acquisition of Acorn by Cambridge Maintenance Services Group. This includes Acorn Engineering, Marsh and AIS BMS. It enables these strong and successful companies to share greater resource, capacity and abilities.

There will be no immediate changes to the presentation or current operation of either Acorn or Cambridge and it will continue to be very much service focused business as usual. Our high standards, service delivery teams and all contacts will remain the same.

Cambridge Maintenance Services is a nationwide supplier of technical engineering services, offering mechanical and electrical planned preventative maintenance, as well as round-the-clock reactive services for a diverse set of clients. The Company uses disruptive smart technology to deliver regulated building maintenance, testing and compliance services across nine engineering hubs in the UK, helping to reduce their clients’ costs and drive sustainability in the process.

Acorn Engineering Group is a specialist supplier of planned and reactive mechanical, electrical and water treatment services operating in London and the South East. It also has a specialist BMS and analytics company providing BMS services, remote monitoring and analytics to improve building performance and reduce energy usage and costs.

This is a most exciting opportunity to develop and grow these exceptional businesses. With a combined maintenance turnover in excess of £32m and with over 300 employees, the overall group business will be a significant service provider in the marketplace.

Both Cambridge and Acorn share a similar reputation and history with high ethical values and are already recognised as being strong service providers within the industry. With our combined skills and many years of experience, the new group will offer our clients greater service levels with a drive to self-deliver more services. We will also be in a great position to use our combined technological expertise to provide our clients with cutting edge solutions as the industry moves in that direction.

With a very limited shared client base and regional crossover this is a great strategic fit to further enhance our service capabilities and reputation.

Both Cambridge and Acorn are built around great people who provide a first-class service and we see this as a very positive move for all our valued clients and employees.
