Acorn are proud to have been awarded The Planet Mark accreditation for the third year running which demonstrates our commitment to the environment and sustainability.

During 2015, we successfully reduced our own carbon footprint by 11% which is 120% over our initial target.

The Planet Mark operates in partnership with the Eden Project is a sustainability certification available for all businesses, buildings and projects that are committed to improving their sustainability.

During 2015, we not only worked hard to reduce our carbon footprint but also introduced several new initiatives to increase employee satisfaction and community awareness.

Back in August, we introduced our well-being calendar. Our most valuable asset is, and always will be our dedicated employees who devote themselves to delivering the work of our business and their well-being is very important.

The calendar focuses on different subjects which provide our people with support, information and encouragement on that particular area. Our campaigns so far have included drink awareness, healthy eating, keeping fit and drinking more water.

We also introduced a Community Cash scheme, a fundraising policy which helps our people raise funds for charitable causes. Since the launch back in October, Acorn has supported charities such as Cancer Research, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, NSPP and Walk The Walk.

This is all on top of our green team who meet on a regular basis to review how we can save energy, save cost, run our business responsibly and learn what can be used to help our clients.
