Back in February this year, Acorn Engineering Group introduced and launched their charity calendar, raising funds for a different cause each month.
Over the last six months, we have managed to raise nearly £750 for several different charities including MS Awareness, Stroke Foundation, British Heart Foundation and Canine Partners.
Our charity days are held on the last Friday of each month, employees are encouraged to donate as part of our dress down day, take part in our activities including games and also treated to a Friday treat lunch.
The charity calendar was introduced so that our employees had an opportunity to give something back to the community and help others. Each month, the charity is either decided from the available national charitable days or by a nominated employee who has a close affiliation with a charity.
Jon Coiley, Managing Director commented, ‘Acorn are really pleased that we are able to introduce this into the business, not only does it bring us together as a company whilst having some fun, but we are also helping others in need.’
Once our employees have donated on the Friday charity day, the company then match what they have managed to raised, doubling the total.
