On Thursday 30th August 2018, Acorn Engineering Group carried out their second volunteering session of the year at 1st Burnham & Hitcham Scout Group, Burnham.
We were overwhelmed with the response from our employees and even had to put some very kind volunteers into reserve for the next session which will be held before the year is out.
It was a beautiful day and the sun had its hat on which helped as most of the work was based outdoors. We had seven volunteers who spent the day gardening, painting, hedge cutting and assembling racking.
Victoria Palmer, our AIS BMS Office Manager arranged the session as her son is a member of the beavers group.
‘It is an absolute fantastic opportunity for the Scout Group as it is very hard for us to generate members of the public to help out. Our employees really clubbed together and achieved an amazing amount in a short space of time.’
Victoria Palmer, AIS BMS Office Manager
Our volunteering policy was introduced earlier in the year and each employee is entitled to one day’s volunteering per year.
'Thank you so much for your team's efforts, it has made a huge difference to the Scout hut and surrounding area.'
Anne Tee, Chairwoman of 1st Burnham & Hitcham Scout Group
